Farm to Table Supper- North Bay Photographer

Supper on a beautiful farm… shoots like this make work feel way too good to be true. When I moved to North Bay, Laura and Rene hired me at White Owl Bistro. I was coming from a job at a community garden, and was thrilled to meet people so committed to local and sustainable food practises. It can be a struggle, but their passion is so obvious. It’s in the food they serve at their restaurant, the way they run their family farm and when they throw beautiful events like this!

Field Good Farms in Verner were the first hosts of hopefully many Farm to Table suppers. I arrived to some banging hors d’oeuvres from the woodfired pizza oven and an insane cucumber and gin cocktails made with Sudbury’s own Crosscut Gin. Isabelle and Ryan then took their guests on a quick but super informative tour of their fields and greenhouses. They fielded questions and shared their failures, successes and challenges openly.

We all sat down together for supper afterwards, sharing a family style meal of dishes made with their beyond tasty produce and meat from other local farmers.

Follow White Owl’s Facebook page so you don’t miss out on the next supper they host!
